A CRM cannot see a territory.

Most rental CRMs treat geography as a text field. City = Omaha. State = NE. Maybe a ZIP. That is enough to print a label. It is not enough to know whether a company sits in the west zone, the downtown zone, or twenty miles past the line the DSM drew.

Imports make it worse. A row can have a correct street and a GPS pin in Omaha and a city of Piscataway, New Jersey. If the system trusts the city, the account is junk. If it trusts the pin against an approved polygon, the account is in Zone 1. Those are different products.

EquipLead takes the unfashionable view: the map is the source of truth. Zones are polygons. A pin is in or it is out. Overflow is opt-in, not a silent leak. Field-confirmed addresses are never rewritten by a geocoder having a good day.

Until a CRM can answer ‘is this pin in her Tuesday zone,’ it cannot answer ‘who should she call.’ It can only show the book you already have — which is the part you were not missing.
